Kairi, Far North Queensland

Kairi (pronounced "Key-rye" or "Keer-eye") is a town on the Atherton Tableland in Far North Queensland, Australia, about 80 km inland from Cairns. There's a hotel named Kairi, a store named Kairi, a pottery and crafts shop named Kairi. The town is about 1000 m above sea level on the Atherton Tablelands close to Lake Tinaroo which is a popular location for many water sports and fishing. The Dam has been stocked with Barramundi and the season is open all year round. In recent times the world record Barra was caught, it weighed in at 37 kg :)
