To work or to travel - that is the question. To work and travel is the answer.

News Flash! WHV now in NZ

Great news today!!
Working Holiday Visa (WHV) is gonna be available for us also in New Zealand, as the foreign ministers of Estonia and NZ signed the agreement between the two countries. And you know who was the first one to tell me about it? Of course my dear 'backpacker' and 'fruitpicker' Ann who suggested that we prolong our WH adventure by another year in NZ :) What a clever cookie!! (H) Anyways, jokes aside, it's nice to know that we can actually do it if that's what we want after 12 months in OZ. And as we've already got open tickets to New Zealand and the return flight back home should take off from Auckland.. we could always change that and stay a bit longer ;) (ip)

Farewell, Jarno and Tiit!

Last night a big farewell party was held in the famous Luise Residence to send our friends Jarno and Tiit off to their Aussie Trip. The two globe-trotters themselves cheerfully shared their story and demonstrated a few possible plans of the take-off. Here they go...

Their first plan is to try some traditional ways of transportation, such as the old blue waggon...However, they soon find out that there's no departure with destination Perth, Australia. Look at the disappointment on their faces! Poor guys! But they don't give up and fire off by Peugeot...What a tough luck when the French Car gets stuck trying to cross the first mountains. Off they go and walk down to the closest port. To hijack a poor fisherman's boat K0409...Just look at them! Half-naked and ready to sail away, they don't pay attention on the maximum allowed load - 100 kg for passangers and cargo. 10 m off shore their sailsman's career ends. Dried and dressed up, it's time for some serious thinking...And some heavy drinking...
Big thoughts, bigger boats. They are now chilling on board the Aussie Cruise Line... (H)Guys, guys, guys, have a good trip and see you in November! We've decided to go for the plane :D

The 1st of September

Hey, I'm just stopping by to drop a line on this extraordinary 1st of September. The first 9/1 in the past 16 years that was nothing but an ordinary working day for me. The daily travel news, another marketing campaign, loads of emails.. No first lectures of the year, no professors, no college books. School's over! - It arrived to me today when I found myself thinking whether sitting there in the office was actually more fun than meeting my friends on the first school day after holidays. Needless to say, the answer was no :) So I met them up for a drink later in the evening to celebrate the start of a new school year that we did not start, and the start of a whole new experience. It feels really good to take a year off and go travelling, because the job can wait and so does everything else, including the MBA. And even though I'm sure we'll be back in the class in a few years time, for now the only course I'm motivated to attend is the Surf Lesson ;) Yes, yes.. Oh! I'm off to bed now! One of my girlfriends is getting married tomorrow. Yep, another one! That makes 2 weddings in 3 weeks. Looks like we are running out of singles - and that's really a shocking news! :)
